Another one! We are thrilled to announce the addition of Melanie Muscolo to our team. Melanie’s smile and personality brightens up our office daily. Please enjoy her responses to the questions below!
Tell me about yourself! Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. Some of my favorite things are aliens, Netflix, baseball, Harry Potter, and True Crime documentaries. I would also say my guiltiest pleasure is watching reality tv. I also always read the spoilers for shows like The Bachelor & The Bachelorette, so if you’d like to know who wins in advance, I’m the girl to ask.
How did you get to this field?
I have a media background, and I love being in a creative space. I got my start in the media world working in television casting and working with talent for various networks, such as The Food Network, ABC, Fox, NBC, E!, and MTV. I have a passion for people and love how technology has allowed folks from all walks of life and from all over the world to connect.
What are your top 3 organization tips? And why?
- Making lists is key to me! I always joke if I don’t write it down who knows where it will end up in my mind! Writing a list also helps me prioritize and organize my thoughts.
- Planning ahead is something I also find really helpful. When possible, I like to look ahead at what’s coming up on my schedule to prepare meeting notes.
- I’ve learned I need to get rid of things when I no longer need them. Tossing a sticky note away or archiving an email as soon as the task is complete helps me feel like I am less cluttered.
Do you have a mantra you live by in your field?
Treat people the way you want to be treated. I love to help others and make them feel better. I really think it makes a difference in an interaction with someone else if you take a step back and think about how the person may be feeling. It can help you find a new perspective.
How do our core values (collaboration, initiative, ingenuity) align with your own?
One of the many reasons I was intrigued by the potential at working at Buckeye Interactive were the core values. I believe that those core values create a better end result when creating a product or working with a client.
What do you want to learn in the next 12 months in our industry or at Buckeye Interactive?
I am absolutely fascinated by app development, and I’m really excited to learn more about the technological side of things. Since starting here at Buckeye Interactive, I even look at own apps on my phone differently! You really don’t think about all that it takes to create and maintain them.
What is your favorite pastime?
I really enjoy going to concerts. Some people get an adrenaline rush from going on roller coasters, while I get that adrenaline rush from going to concerts!
What’s your favorite Hallmark movie? Feel free to give more than 1! And please tell us why.
This might be the hardest question I’ve been asked in awhile! I’ll give my top 5 in no particular order, but just know I could go on for days about Hallmark movies that I like!
“My Secret Valentine,” “Nine Lives of Christmas,” and “A Very Merry Mix-up” are all movies that I’ve seen so many times I’ve lost count! “Summer in the City” is a favorite of mine because it is super relatable to me. It’s about a girl who moves from Ohio to NYC while only knowing 1 person beforehand! Another favorite is “Christmas as the Palace.” I was an ice skater as a child, so I love any movie about ice skating.
